My funny this week comes from Murray Clarke. I love this.

This isn’t just about the power of punctuation, but also how gender impacts how we how we see the relationships in our lives, particularly who is more valued. Forgive me for turning a funny into a sociological debate, but I was a sociology professor.
I used to quote the one about “shoots, eats, and leaves” or “Let’s eat kids” when pointing out the importance of punctuation. But I’m definitely gonna use this from now on. I’m also keeping: “Crocodiles don’t swim here”.
This is a good example of different viewpoints using punctuation to make the meaning of the sentence different, Esther.
That is a very clever and thoughtful provoking line Martha – the power of punctuation and thought 🙌
Great example of punctuation and social outlook, Esther. Thanks for sharing it.
Oh gosh. I love this. I am editing students’ essays at the moment and can so relate to the use of commas or the lack thereof!
