Editing Service: A Helping Hand For Writers

Editing, Proofreading and Advice Service

  • Need help with your novel?
  • Struggling with your short story?
  • Having a few niggles with your non-fiction book?
  • Looking for someone to cast a careful eye over your work?

If any of the above apply to you, I can help. Being a writing tutor for The Writers Bureau for over fourteen years has meant I’ve helped students with all sorts of writing projects, including:

  • Novels
  • Non-fiction books
  • Short stories
  • Articles
  • Blurbs
  • Writing for competitions
  • Writing for children
  • Memoirs
  • Copywriting

And more.

I love helping others – as much as I love writing myself. So, ten years ago, I started my own Editing, Proofreading and Advice Service. We all need that helping hand sometimes, so if you think I can help you, whether it’s an edit (full or developmental (see FAQs for an explanation), proofread, making submissions to an agent/publisher, some advice about a market – in fact, anything and everything, please get in touch and I’ll try and help you.

Read the Testimonials page.

Interested? What do you need to do now?

As a writer myself, I know how important your writing is to you. Your voice is unique and I want it to stay that way. So the service I offer is tailored to each individual.

For a free quote, please send me the following:

  • Novel – the opening two chapters, together with a synopsis/outline (it doesn’t have to be perfect!)
  • Non-fiction book – the opening two chapters, together with a synopsis/outline
  • Short story – the full short story
  • Article – the full article
  • Blurb – the full blurb (together with an outline of your book)

Send your work as an attachment, in Word, with a covering email, to estherchilton@gmail.com

In the email, please let me know what you’re looking for – some writers may want a full edit and proofread, others may be looking for a developmental edit, while some might just want a proofread. If you’re not sure, don’t worry – just get in touch and I’ll guide you.

If I haven’t covered the project you’d like advice on in the list above, please contact me and I’ll see if I can help.
