Under a clever disguise, Mara slipped past guards to cherish a stolen moment by the roaring waterfall. Music echoed, and she began to boogie, laughing at danger. With charcoal, she tried to draw his face, but tears blurred lines, turning memory into something softer, almost forgiving, and strangely brave for them both.

A Night to Remember
Disguise invites freedom of lust for this one night of the year – the masked ball. It was easy to draw the wrong conclusions about coupling that night but I cherish my memories of a boogie by the waterfall with my werewolf disguised as a prince.
Not being artistic – I really can’t draw – it was out of my comfort zone to sketch the waterfall as I did.
Boogie, my faithful basset-hound, lay sleepily beside me as I worked.

Every carnival there was a competition for best disguise. Clara cherished the awards she had received for five years running. The winner was announced during the boogie. It was a draw: Clara had to share with another polar bear. She could have killed it as a waterfall with the tears she cried.
I was trying to draw a waterfall, something I love, when a song I cherish came on the radio. I jumped up and started to boogie down when all of a sudden I was stopped in my tracks. My husband, unbeknownst to me, was standing there in disguise, spying on me! How crazy!

Albert Ammons (1907-1949), the famous American boogie-woogie piano player in the late-1920s, drew on his previous experience working at KFC in downtown Chicago, and cherished the moments he performed, disguised, alongside his bandmates Meade Lux Lewis and Pete Johnson. We will always remember the night we decided to disguise ourselves and climb down the waterfall. Sophie was so excited when we made it, she started to boogie. I will always cherish that memory.
As we got older, with family responsibilities, we decided to draw a line under these adrenaline charged activities.
