We used to tell a joke when we were little. Little Fritz (the German standard joke kid) was called up by the lifeguard in the public pool. The lifeguard said: “You are banned from the pool for the next week. You just cannot pee in the pool.” Little Fritz pushed his lower lip forward. “That’s unfair!! EVERYBODY does it!” “Well,” said the lifeguard. “But not from the three meter diving platform.”

My dad would always say that they put a chemical in the pool water that turns purple when someone pees in the pool. Making a purple spot around the guilty.

I remember reading in a children’s book that sharks would be attracted to the smell and so you shouldn’t urinate in the ocean.

I’m not sure how true it was, but I was at a pool party once where the hosts said that they put a chemical in the pool that turned pee a bright color, so anyone who did – they’d be spotted! 🦈
