Book Review – Rhyming Dreams by Nicole Sara

Many of you follow Nicole Sara’s beautiful blog Starry Steps and enjoy her poems. She really has a gift for creating stunning lines. I recently finished her collection of poems – Rhyming Dreams. Here’s the blurb:

Rhyming Dreams is an enchanting and engaging collection of poems about the heartโ€™s winding journey through deep wistful longing towards bliss and belonging along the meandering road of love and loss, hope and healing. This book is for anyone who dreams a lot, loves deeply, and has both good and bad days.. like steps on a pathway, be them confident or hesitating, nevertheless tirelessly searching for happiness in the enjoyment of small things around, yet so sweet, that life has to offer.

Each and every poem in this debut collection is deeply rooted in personal moments and experiences but still wonderfully universal, so that you feel taken by the hand and shown the beauty and brightness of it all, thus wholeheartedly invited to gently give yourself grace beyond the sadness of blue gloomy days, the tears or the brokenness.

This collection of beautifully flowing and uplifting verse is a soothing balm for the soul in search of serenity, helping the reader to reach peaceful shores deep within.

My Review

Rhyming Dreams is a joy to read. I was so captivated by each poem that I read it in one sitting, and then read it again, more slowly so I could take my time over every line of each poem.

The poems are accompanied by a photo – stunning flowers and tranquil skies.

One of my favourite poems is Beyond Blue, which opens

Sweet summer breeze

cuddles the heart

Imminent Kiss also stood out for me, but I loved them all. I’ve bought Nicole’s newest collection The Blues and the Beautiful and know it’s going to be every bit as enjoyable.

About Imminent Kiss… I wrote this poem immediately after I came back from Spain, when I visited in 2017, and was still missing it very much… the soap bubbles photos uploaded for the post with this poem had been taken in Park Gรผell in Barcelona, so lovely! ๐Ÿ˜ Just in case, I’m sharing the link to the original post on my old blog, https://doarnicol.wordpress.com/?s=imminent+kiss perhaps you would enjoy it. Oh… and the music, I was so happy to find the Spanish version of Eros Ramazzotti’s song then, Un รngel Como El Sol Tรบ Eres, so nice that most Italian singers record their original songs in their Spanish version as well. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
