  8. I’m wondering if this message is for teenagers…those whose closets are mostly costumes, rather than appropriate attire (by parents’ definition)😄

  11. It makes sense. Why would you allow someone to buy something you know will be returned.

  13. Haha! I already follow that rule. Not only do I dislike clothes shopping, but my wife has a much better fashion sense than I do.

  14. Best leave the shopping decisions to the wives. They know best (about everything:)

  16. That’s so cute 🥰.

About 10 years ago, my husband and Mother-in-law went to town without me. Feeling bad for having to leave me at home, they decided to buy a present to bring a smile to my face upon their return, unknowing that their return was enough to make my heart swell.

At the time, I was fairly thin wearing a size 6 and very particular about my clothing. I’m sure you can see where this is headed.

The two of them proudly entered the front door with big smiles on their faces making me question what they had been doing during their adventure. Rusty kiss my forehead and said “We missed you.” While presenting a beautiful package covered in pretty paper with bows and ribbons. Stunningly beautiful.

I carefully dislodged the tape from the paper to find a cute little black skirt covered with polka dots and daisies with a layer of black tulle sewn under the material size 12 for little girls.

I smile, my heart swelled, and I nearly laughed when I remembered the episode of “Leave it to Beaver” when Beaver bought his Mother the ugliest blouse in town. June held her tongue and said “I Love it.” She wasn’t referring to the blouse but Beaver didn’t know that.

A tear came to my eye “I Love it” came out of my mouth.
