If you’d like to be included in this slot, please get in touch: estherchilton@gmail.com. Poems can be up to 60 lines and prose 2000 words. If you’d like to add a short bio and photo, then great. All I ask is that there’s nothing offensive.
My guest this week is N. E. White. Please give her a warm welcome as it’s the first time she’s been a guest here. I’ll now pass this week’s post over:
Thank you so much for this opportunity to address your readers directly. Ahem…

Shoot.
I have to write something meaningful, don’t I?
Or something inspirational?
At the very least, entertaining?
(eek)
Let’s start over.
Some call me Nila. I’m a fantasy and science fiction author.
In 2024, I finally fulfilled a decades-long dream and self-published my first (yes, there will be more!) epic trilogy. It’s fitting that the first book I’ve managed to publish is about a woman desperate to free herself from a harsh society and find her way home.
I often feel bound, and while I do know where home is, sometimes a search for a place to belong that caters to our personality can prompt an epic journey. Epic implies a struggle. While I don’t agree that our lives should be a struggle, the reward often isn’t earned until we do.
Can I relate to my main character, Aleeya, who happens to be a winged-humanoid stuck in a Roman-inspired society that discriminates against her species? Maybe not entirely, but a little. What I definitely can relate to is how she learns to face her adversaries and grows to trust those who love her.
This winged cartographer’s story is a found-family journey against the odds across a stunning landscape. If that interests you, try it today from Amazon (eBook or paperback) or Draft2Digital (paperback only).
