Do any of you like writing flash fiction? Maybe you’re not sure what it is. Or, if you do know, you’d like to explore it some more. I’ve written a new course for The Writers Bureau on this form of writing.
In this three-module, online course you cover what flash fiction is, how to write it well and where you can submit it.
The first module looks at what flash fiction entails and includes the type of markets that publish this type of story. Then you start with writing very short flash fiction stories.
The second module covers longer pieces of flash fiction and the essential ingredients of a flash fiction story.
The final module is about the importance of ensuring every part of your flash fiction story works. It takes you through how to open with a hook, build on the middle and close strongly.
There are lots of examples and some writing exercises for you to work through. At the end of modules one and three, there is an assignment to complete which you submit for constructive feedback.
