Book Review – The Weybourne Witches

I’ve read lots of books by this author under the name of Glynis Peters. She writes beautifully-told wartime sagas. When I heard she’d written something a little different, I was curious to know more. The Weybourne Witches has been published under the name of Amber Raven (the perfect name for a story about witches). Here’s a little bit about it:

A captivating tale of witches, women and the will to survive…

1600s, The village of Weybourne, Norfolk

Brigid Netherwell is accused of witchcraft and condemned to death in front of her young daughter Willow who vows to record her family’s story.

Decades later, twin sisters Myrtle and Marigold Netherwell are forced to confront the dark secrets of the past and the legacy of the Netherwell women…

Step into their world and awaken your own magic.

My Review

Within the first few pages I was captivated by the concept of the story and Amber has such a way of making you care for her main protagonist, Myrtle, that you’re compelled to read on.

The story takes us through several generations of Netherwell women and all they’ve had to endure. It’s a reminder of the awful way so-called ‘witches’ were treated in the past. But now there’s a chance that good will win through. Though it’s clear it’s not going to be easy and Myrtle also has battles closer to home to worry about.

The Weybourne Witches is a story to lose yourself in. An enchanting read.
