Book Review – The Lost Bookshop

I came across The Lost Bookshop by accident. I’d not heard of it before, nor its author. But it was 99p on Kindle, so I thought I’d nothing to lose in downloading it. The blurb looked interesting, but I didn’t really have high hopes for it. Boy, was I wrong! Here is the blurb to Evie Woods first book, The Lost Bookshop:

โ€˜The thing about books,โ€™ she said โ€˜is that they help you to imagine a life bigger and better than you could ever dream of.โ€™

On a quiet street in Dublin, a lost bookshop is waiting to be foundโ€ฆ

For too long, Opaline, Martha and Henry have been the side characters in their own lives.

But when a vanishing bookshop casts its spell, these three unsuspecting strangers will discover that their own stories are every bit as extraordinary as the ones found in the pages of their beloved books. And by unlocking the secrets of the shelves, they find themselves transported to a world of wonderโ€ฆ where nothing is as it seems.

My Review

I’ve read duel timeline books before and enjoyed them, and the two main female characters captured my heart straight away. Add in Henry, who enchants us, and a mysterious old lady, and this is a book full of beautiful characters you’re rooting for. It’s such a magical storyline, and if you don’t believe in all that, you certainly will by the end of the book. I loved it so much I didn’t want it to end. It’s a book that reminds you why you love reading so much.

  2. I agree with you, Esther. I stumbled across this book on Amazon and ordered it. I loved it. Gifted it to my Mum and she loved it too. It is magical and I too was sorry when it ended. I will read it again, as I feel I may have missed some of the nuances the first time around. ๐Ÿฉท
