This week’s writing prompt is:
FRIENDSHIP
What does the word friendship mean to you? A group of friends who you wouldn’t be without? You might have one special friend. Or maybe your pets are your most precious friends. It could a son or a daughter, or a partner who’s your best friend. Perhaps you’ve had friends from when you were at school and/or you’ve made lots of new friends over the years. I’m fortunate to have some wonderful friends, but I’ve also had some quite toxic friendships over the years. You could write about one of those or create one for a character. Alternatively, you could write about an act of friendship that has especially touched you, or you could make it fiction.
You don’t have to share your work, but I always enjoy seeing what you come up with if the prompt gives you inspiration. Here is the work you shared on last week’s prompt SENSES. You produced some stunning pieces.
In a world where wonders intertwine,
Five senses awaken, a dance so divine.
Touch whispers secrets on fingertips bare,
The soft quilt of night wraps the breezes in care.
Taste savors sweetness on the tongue’s eager quest,
A chocolatey embrace, a berry’s soft zest.
Each bite a adventure, a journey set free,
In the realm of the palate, a symphony’s plea.
Sight paints the canvas with colors ablaze,
Golden dawn blushes, while twilight holds gaze.
Mountains rise bold, under skies deep and blue,
A kaleidoscope tapestry, weaving dreams true.
Sound drips like rain in melodious flow,
The rustle of leaves and the creek’s gentle glow.
Laughter in echoes, the song of the lark,
A symphony crafted, igniting the spark.
Aroma of spices, a garden reborn,
The earthy scent of rain on the soft, tender morn.
Vanilla and citrus swirl in the air,
Each whiff a reminder of beauty laid bare.
Together they sing, these senses of ours,
Through touch, taste, sight, sound, and scents of the flowers.
In harmony bound, through the fabric of time,
Life blooms in the richness, a spirit sublime.
Ferocious buzzing
Ignorance is perilous
Heat provokes swarming
***
Lucious gold flowers
Hiding African killers
Death has tiny wings
***
Cloying sweet perfume
Hangs heavily in hot air
Attracts deadly bees
***
Swarming bees attack
Driving hot stings into flesh
Life not guaranteed
***
Acacia honey
Taste of possible danger
Untamed forewarning
When it comes to senses, I seem to have a sixth sense about when the cooker timer is about to ping! Inevitably I will be sitting reading a book or watching TV and I will get up and go to the cooker when the timer reaches 1. It’s weird!
