Writing Prompts

This week’s writing prompt is a photo:

I love this old gothic hall. Who lives there? Are there lots of secrets hidden inside? Let your imagination go.

Last week’s prompt was

NOSTALGIA

You don’t have to share your work, but I’d love to see what you come up with if the prompt gives you inspiration. Here are some lovely pieces on last week’s prompt:

Ritu:

N – never forget

O – old memories

S – scenes from the past

T – tales of childhood

A – adventures with friends

L – long lost loves

G – giggles and joy

I – irreplaceable thoughts

A – always fondly remembered

NOSTALGIA

The one thing I fear is the chance that one day, we will forget.

On one hand, I want to savour the moment, live for each second we experience, first hand.

On the other I want to record, with photos and videos, so if and when that time comes, someone can show me images so I may be able to remember past moments of joy.

It is a wonderful thing, to be nostalgic, and remember the good old days, but such a shame when those good days begin to fade…

Christine Mallaband-Brown:

Nostalgia hits me all the time now. I long to be back in simpler times. Old TV shows from the 60s and 70s remind me of past times when I thought adventure was real. Hero’s could do anything. Irony did not exist and no one suffered real hardship. Nostalgia is sneaky, comfy, mostly happy. If I could make life better I would create nostalgic bliss.

  2. The old house looked splendid in the warm daylight. It’s patina of age gleamed gold and silver, while dark sooty patches indicated its closeness to the industrial smoke down in the valley.
Mr Proctor gave a sigh, could he take it on? Death duties were going to be costly, but he would honour the family. It just depended on whether he would get planning permission. It was going to be a great Hogwarts annex.
