This week’s writing prompt is:
NOSTALGIA
Write about a personal experience – something you’ve enjoyed. It could be a family holiday, hobby, trip to the theatre, memories of being a scout or brownie, your first job, school days and so on. Immerse yourself in the memory and bring it to life as much as you can.
Last week, your prompt was:
TAKE A WALK
You don’t have to share your work, but I’d love to see what you come up with if the prompt gives you an idea. Here are some lovely pieces on last week’s prompt:
As we walk around our park, we see so many varieties of palms, I can’t count them. The plumeria is blooming, yet not enough so we can smell it yet, high up on the branches. The sun warms my back and I have to scrunch up my nose as we pass the small water treatment facility in the park. As I pass by the pond, I see the turtles, sunning on the banks as dragonflies flit around the surface. Rounding the corner, we notice the RVs newest to the park, or especially beautiful busses we envy.
Lizards scurry under cover as we approach, their tails curled up in what I assume is a defense pose. Nearby neighbors wave a hello, or invite us over for a word or two. Closer to home, we check out the gorgeous water of our resort’s swimming pool, clear, aqua water, shimmering in the stillness, inviting us to come in to cool off from the warm spring-like day!
Every time we climb up the hills
Thinking about it gives me thrills
To see the sky, flowers and trees
Some flowers have a mass of frills
Nature’s smell on the evening breeze
Walking up with you is an ease
Mountains, forests, cities and lakes
Let’s not stop walking, pretty please
Good way to spend our summer breaks
Go for it if that’s what it takes
Sometimes I complain about it
Hold my hand, I forget my aches
Make the most of it with sunlit
I’m enjoying this, I admit
Good for our health and I commit
It’s fun and also makes us fit.
And Sharon Harvey sent one in for the previous week’s prompt New Beginnings:
The past enveloped her and started to define her; now for new beginnings.
