Writing Prompts

This week’s writing prompt is:

ESCAPE

Who or what has escaped? Is it a person, animal or alien? Or does it relate to the escape of something else? Close your eyes and let your mind wander.

Last week, your prompt was an opening line:

A roar pierces the air close by.

You don’t have to share your work, but I’d love to see what you come up with if an idea is sparked. Here are a couple of super responses to the prompt:

Kim Smyth:

A roar pierces the air close by

A jet flying low in the sky

“Practicing touch and goes,” claims hubby.

How does he know, I wonder humbly.

He knows from his military days

Was trained in aviation ways.

Reminds me of watching Top Gun

Back when movies were more fun.

Christine Mallaband-brown:

A roar pierces the air close by,

The car window rattles

A mane of sandy hair

A great black nose

Golden eyes

It was an exciting visit to the safari park!

  2. Can I ever escape the madness?
    The thoughts of overwhelming sadness?
    Of being without your presence,
Now that you’ve left the premises?
I can with the Holy spirit.
Who heals my grief and and discomfort.
As time goes by, the thoughts seem to lessen.
With Your support, my life is a blessing.

  3. Escape, she thought of it for a long time. Leaving work, leaving home, finding a new place, new people. But would she be safe? Times were tough, work was hard. Little education, poor food, poverty.
She left and joined the Suffragette movement.
