Writing Prompts

This week’s writing prompt is an opening line:

A roar pierces the air close by.

Is the roar from a fearsome animal? Or is it a human cry of pain? Or one of triumph? Perhaps some children are playing. Or something more sinister could be afoot. Brainstorm a few ideas for fifteen minutes and see what you come up with.

    “Practicing touch and goes” claims hubby
    How does he know, I wonder humbly.
    He knows from his military days
    Was trained in aviation ways.
    Reminds me of watching Top Gun
    Back when movies were more fun.

    A mane of sandy hair
    A great black nose
    Golden eyes
    It was an exciting visit to the safari park!
