Happy New Year! I hope you’re all having a great day. To get the new year going, why not have a go at writing a limerick?
Your new limerick challenge is:
FAME
Your challenge last week was to write a limerick using the word AWARD in it somewhere. You produced some great limericks:
Awards are not given for trying,
When heroes and villains are dying.
Ask any marine
Resisting routine –
Don’t tell me that’s not edifying!
I must say I really was floored
When she gave me this verbal award:
“You’re so manly, steadfast,
and you certainly do last!”
I replied I’m just happy I scored.
I will award all of my friends
A gold star for kindness that mends
My poor broken heart
That was falling apart
That with love I can say it sends.
There once was a man with a Ford
So pretty it won an award
He polished and waxed
Remodeled and taxed
And now gets to reap his reward!
