Book News – How Many Books Are On Your TBR Pile?

So, how many of you received books for Christmas? You can never have too many books, right? That’s what I’m always telling my partner, though my bookshelves are completely full and the top of my wardrobe is heaving with books. Every time I open it, I’m waiting for them all to fall down on my head. His solution is a kindle, which I’ve tried, but it’s just not the same as a ‘proper’ book. There’s nothing like the feel and smell of a print book.

Now, I have a rather large TBR pile, as I’m sure many of you do. I daren’t think how many books I have on mine. One of them is Steve Cavanagh’s latest. If you haven’t read any of his, I’d thoroughly recommmend his Eddie Flynn books. Talk about page turners!

But then Richard Osman’s third book is also waiting to be read…

I also have a few classics that I want to delve into. Decisions, decisions. What’s on your TBR pile?

    I also moved to a Kindle so no more TBR piles for me. Now it’s just lists on my computer, lists at the library and lists at Amazon. I do miss the feel and smell of a book, as well as the sight of beautifully stacked pile of books on a shelf, but such is life.

    I have a couple of ’70s themed book son Kindle …. just so’s I know how to pitch (or not pitch) mine come February / March. 😉
    I too got several fro Christmas, even though I had a long TBR list already.
    Recent additions are a coupe of ‘coffee table’ books on Scottish Football from the ‘black & white’ era. Also a couple of retro football books; a couple by comedians as well as, I think three outstanding Terry Pratchett novels … oh yeah – and a couple of books on India; one on NOrth Korea and one on Mao’s Revolution.

    Then there’s the Batman ’66 graphic novels I downloaded because they wer on offer – and The Beano and Dandy Annuals that Santa still brings me. (Honest)

    Phew! 😀

      Not a fan, Geoff? I was very skeptical and put off reading one for ages but thought I’d give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. I don’t read celebrity author’s books as a rule but was curious about this one.

        nope; i was curious, like you. I sort of thought book one was okish, a bit like the first Cormran Strike book by Robert Galbraith (AKA JKR). I gave that series a second go and loved it; so I thought I’d do the same for Osman. What a load of sh*te. I don’t think I’ve put up with a more ridiculous plot since I stopped watching Eastenders or foolishly assumed Stieg Larsson’s books would improve after the Girl with Utterly Nothing Worthwhile To Say or whatever it was.
