An Unusual Custom Or Two

I was digging around in my old writing folders when I found some research about unusual laws and customs. I found many a treat and thought I’d start to share a few with you:

  • In Kentucky, USA, every citizen is required to take a bath once a year. As often as that?!
  • Green Giant canned sweet corn is advertised as a topping for ice cream in South Korea. Yum!
  • Many years ago, if a couple got married in Yorkshire, England, a plate holding wedding cake would be tossed out the window as the bride returned to her parents’ house post-wedding. If the plate didn’t break, her future would be dire, but if it broke, she was assured true happiness with her new husband. The need for a plastic plate comes to mind…
