Laughing Along With A Limerick

Here’s to a great week! Your new limerick challenge is as follows:

STAR

Your challenge last week was to write a limerick using the word SNOW in it somewhere. Here are your masterpieces:

Keith Edgar Channing:

A colleague that I used to know,
Like Jon, had the surname of Snow.
Treble, bass and descant,
Every Yuletide we’d chant
Derek Snow, Derek Snow, Derek Snow.

Christine Mallband-Brown:

Snow is here at last
And it is falling fast
Over the high hills
Which gives you thrills
And memories of the past.

The cat was out in the snow
The wind was starting to blow
She went to the door
And pushed with her paw
Through the catflap into the warm glow.

Kim Smyth:

The snow is falling out west
As I’m enjoying my rest
I’d rather view from inside
The berth I give it is wide
A picture of it’s really the best.

Lance Greenfield:

The weather forecast was very bad
And Bony Tony was far from glad.
Warmth and sun
Would ruin his fun.
His snowman would melt, which made him sad.

Ruth Scribbles:

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
They sang as Santa blew his big nose
The reindeer did play
On that fateful day
When Santa tripped and broke his big toe.

Val Fish:

Why is it the first fall of snow
Turns Great Britain into ‘no go’?
And as for the train
Drivers striking (again!)
But Merry Christmas folks, heigh ho…

  1. Paul played a pretty mean guitar
And wanted to be a rock-n-roll star
    He practiced all day
In the end it should pay
But it’s been a struggle so far

A star graced the top of the page
Making me feel quite the sage
But it was work, not school
    So I was a fool
My boss told me to act my age

I put a star atop the tree
    Glowing for all to see
it was the first tree I found
    In the middle of town
Now the police are looking for me

  2. A Christmas star on high
Far up in a deep blue sky
    It’s light shines below
    With a wonderful glow
then suddenly, a baby’s first cry

  3. Once I dreamed of being a star
And then I flung myself afar
    I got sidetracked
    Then love attacked
    Now I’m just who I are! 😂🤣

  4. Whilst talking to my chiropractor
I asked “Why can’t I be an actor?”
    With fans near and far
    I’d soon be a star.
Failing that, I can still drive a tractor.

  5. She wanted to be a big star
She wouldn’t have to go very far
    She got mom’s permission
    And entered the audition
Dressed in lights she stood on the bar

STAR twinkles, not the planet 🪐, right?
Twinkling is due to refraction of light, Through different density layers of air!
Each day is starred by powerful Sun, fair?
Sky is lit with silver moon and stars at night!

  7. Vince spattered dark canvas with white.
And, suddenly, he saw the light.
    We know the result,
    ‘Tis art we exult.
    Van Gogh’s Starry Starry Night.
