Laughing Along With A Limerick

Here’s your Monday smile – it’s limerick time. Send in your own or here’s a prompt for you –

SHOWER

Here are a few limericks to make you smile this Monday. The prompt last week was PLANT.

Keith Channing:

Pansies, or so I am told,

Live in places you may think too cold.

Always in bloom,

No time for gloom,

Their beauty’s a thing to behold.

Kim Smyth:

I long for spring so I can plant

Flowers, herbs, but trees-I can’t

My old man don’t like to mow

Around them tree, now don’t you know

His wishes are for me to grant.

Christine Mallaband-Brown:

You’ll really like this new plant

Said the very grumpy old giant

It’s a beanstalk you see

you can come and visit me

I’ll add Jack while the dough is still pliant.

Paul Mastaglio:

Talk to the trees

If you please

But I prefer a plant

To have a good rant

It really is the bees knees!

Trent’s World:

There are several more planets to bag

Where I can plant my flag

Around our sun

Worlds to be won

If rocket prices didn’t make me gag.

Bob worked in a plant that made beer

And took some samples, here and there

But the boss caught wind

That he had sinned

So that bit of tipple cost him dear.

The Hidden Edge:

Rabbie Burns the Scottish bard chose,

To write both poetry and prose;

To plant his strong views,

On life, lust and booze,

And ‘Luve’ who’s like a red, red, rose!

Sarian Lady:

I’m compelled to have a good rant,

‘Bout nourishing myself on a plant.

All animals and birds,

Should be seen and be heard.

Not eaten or worn, I just can’t.

Rene Sparrow:

Never believed I could keep a plant

Alive, flourishing…well, never say “can’t”

Endless varieties, all shades of green

Shapely leaves, some with natural sheen

Oh but hundreds of spider mites did disenchant!

Geoff Le Pard:

Said golden haired Laura La Plante

I would if I could, but I can’t.

For I am too small

It’s no use at all

So ou est la plume de ma tante?

Linking People 2003:

Photosynthesis occurs in plant leaves.

Leaf has chlorophyll which needs,

Atmosphere to provide carbon dioxide,

Not oxygen to form radicle oxide,

The sunlight presence please!

Where the forecast is always so dour.

When the sun, it doth shine,
But we’re sure to be in for a shower.

      1. Thanks! Funnily enough, I thought this up while I was in the shower but the rhymes involving shower gel, loofahs and sponges didn’t work quite so well.

Had great ideas in the shower
    Some time on the bog,
    Would oft lift his fog,
And restore his mighty brain power.

  5. A man once lived in a tower
That didn’t have a working shower
    As you might think
    There was an awful stink
And all were overwhelmed by its power
    *
They say a shower in spring
    Flowers later will bring
    But before the bud
    All is mud
And I’ve sunk to my thing

    To shower someone with praise
    Is a wonderful craze
    Make them feel great
And they could be your mate
Perhaps until the end of days.

    Cheers Paul 😁
