It’s in the biscuit tin…
Southern food, biscuits and gravy (for non-US people – biscuits and gravy is the perfect Southern dish, but is completely and impossible to make north of the Mason-Dixon line… (sub note – I once read that the flour used for southern biscuits is not available in the north))

  What a relief, somebody knows biscuits and gravy!!! I have some southern roots, and I’m convinced Heaven will serve biscuits and gravy daily for all Eternity! It’s the perfect comfort food 🙂 When I was searching the free image sites I was appalled to see that typing in “biscuit(s)” only brought up “cookies” 🙂

    My mom is from the south, and I always swore that my aunt made the best biscuits and gravy n earth until I found that everyone with southern relatives said the same thing! I’m pretty sure that in the US we think of biscuits as those bready things while in the UK it means cookies.

    Exactly! The “best” are those almost anyone who makes them from “scratch” serve–not those Pillsbury unroll-the-can ones…although if desperate, and with enough good gravy, I’d probably eat a plate of them too! 🙂

    My final school of ten was a naval school where we learned the language of ship mates. Soft tack was bread, so I’ll save that in the bank for when your word prompt is either tack or bread. Or perhaps it will be soft.
