Here’s your Monday smile – it’s limerick time. Send in your own or here’s a prompt for you –
SANTA
Here are a few limericks to make you smile this Monday. The prompt last week was FRIEND.
I once had a really good friend
Twas a thing I thought never would end
But when he shaved his beard
He looked totally weird
Like a pig, or at least its back end.
I thought you were my best friend
But when you asked me to lend
You a thousand pounds
To buy a pair of hounds
I knew our friendship must end!
Paul Mastaglio:
Can you comprehend
What I intend
Be a listening ear
When you want someone near
To be your friend.
Faye was my very best friend-
On that, we could always depend-
Until that sad day-
She moved far away-
Now tethered by phones til the end.
I had believed I was better off as ‘lone-ranger’
Born with gifts, expertise to journey, ‘odd-stranger’
But older, some wiser, I’ve learned at life’s end
You can’t share with yourself like you do with a friend
This Christmas I won’t kneel alone by Lord’s manger.
Ajay Simon Richard:
Call for help, a friend.
Don’t wait till the end.
Friend in need is friend indeed.
Remember friends for good deed.
Don’t delay the discord to mend.
Sharon Tingle:
We have been together for decades
Sharing secrets and championing charades
A good friend you remained
Until you acted quite deranged
Accusing me of stealing those marmalades.
