It’s Friday at last. I hope you’ve had a good week.
If you’d like to feature as a guest on my blog, please get in touch. I’m looking for stories and non-fiction pieces of up to 1500 words and poems of up to 40 lines. If you can also send me a photo and a little bit about yourself too, that would be great. Please send them to estherchilton@gmail.com
This week’s guest writer is Kevin Morris with his poem, Their Time in the Sun. Kevin lives in Upper Norwood (a suburb of Greater London) and many of his nature poems are inspired by Spa Wood (a remnant of the Great North Wood) which is a stone’s throw from his home.
Their Time in the Sun
By
Kevin Morris
They have fun
In the sun.
Their perfect
Bodies reject
The fact that they
Will grow old.
Were I to be bold
And say,
“All this will pass
Away,”
Lad and lass would laugh.
Though, perhaps a thoughtful few
Would say,
“That’s true.
But we must
Enjoy our day
Ere we are dust.”
And I would nod
And go away.

Here’s a little bit more about Kevin and his writing:
