One of my recent ‘Markets for Writers’ blogs was for The Writers Bureau’s Short Story Competition. They have recently announced the short list and also published some very insightful tips on why stories don’t make the shortlist:
‘The short list is now available on our website. If your entry isn’t on the short list, don’t despair. Now is the time to evaluate your entry to see if there is anything you can do differently next time. Did you make it easy for the judges to put your entry on the ‘No’ pile?’
To read what they have to say, and to see if you’re on the short list, if you entered, click here. It’s certainly worth a read, especially if you’re thinking of entering any competitions in the future.
