Do you enjoy writing about strong characters? Then the Character-driven Short Story Competition being held by Writing Magazine may be just what you’re looking for. Here’s a bit more about it:

‘Hero or anti-hero, do-er or dreamer, cool or clownish, focus on one memorable character and use them as the driver for the action in this month’s story, which should be 1,500-1,700 words’.

Prizes:

1st: £200 plus publication in Writing Magazine

Runner-up: £50 plus publication on the website

Entry fees: £6 (£4 for subscribers)

Closing date: 15th March 2019
