My New Book Is Coming!

I had a bit of a shock recently when I realised it was nearly five years ago when, The Siege, my first book of short stories came out. So I think another one is long overdue! It’s not as if readers haven’t been asking for another one; it’s just been something that I’ve always meant to get round to but simply haven’t.

So when’s the book coming out? I hear you cry. I’ll be releasing details of my launch day soon. The cover is being designed as you read this and I should be able to let you see a sneak preview very soon.

To whet your appetite, here’s a little bit about the new book, A Walk in the Woods:

An autumnal stroll through the woods, colourful leaves crunching underfoot, the air fresh on the face, laughter and lightness portraying a happy mother and daughter scene. But something isn’t right…

A young boy who thought he knew his parents finds out that he doesn’t know them at all.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to die and then to look down upon yourself?

These are just a few of the scenes and scenarios found in A Walk in the Woods and Other Short Stories. There are stories to make you smile, tales to bring a tear and stories to shock as well as delight.

More to come soon…

  4. Congratulations, that is really exciting. I am thinking of putting together some of my short stories into a compilation. I’ve been told that publishers and agents aren’t interested in anthologies unless they are from an established author, but I may look at self-publishing. It’s an incredibly daunting step.

    1. You should. They do say that it’s only if you’re a famous writer or a celebrity that publishers are intererested in a book of short stories. But don’t let that put you off. Self-publishing is certainly worth it and you have some followers out there who would love to read your book. Go for it!

      1. Thank you, That’s just the encouragement I need. I shall have a look for Self Publishing places. Are there any you’d recommend from experience?

      2. I used Silverwood Books for ‘The Siege’ and they were amazing. I’m just going to do it myself re this next book – on Amazon – and see how that works. They do give you lots of useful advice and guidance. Glad you’re going to go for it! 🙂

  7. Well, Esther a new book! Looking forward to it – a good read for sure – and I’m just as sure it will be ‘to hand’ – just as the ‘Siege’ – my ‘go to’ book for a quick check on short story styles and punctuation! You’ve got me out of ‘two minds’ on many occasions! We really must catch up – I know, we’ve/I’ve been saying that for ages! And yes, I know there are a lot of exclamation marks in this – all quite deliberate! I’ll be at the London Book Fair in March – will you? All the best, Eric.

    1. Hi Eric, thank you for your comments. Yes, we really much catch up soon. I’ve been thinking about you and meaning to get in touch, but the time just goes! I’m not going to make it to the London Book Fair this year. Great that you’re going though. Hopefully you’ll get plenty of inspiration there.

  8. Good luck with the new book Esther, I hope it is a tremendous success.
I have only been involved in publishing one book so far, an anthology of the work of our writing group and the sense of achievement is second to none.
