I Challenge You To…

This week’s challenge is to write a story, limerick or poem on the subject of:

Favourite books

Last week’s theme was favourite foods. You sent in some super pieces. Some are here, while you’ll find others by following the links:

From Kerala in India’s southwest
Come the foods that I deem to be best
A fine fish molee

Goes down well, as my friends will attest.

There once was a writer named Hetty
who did her best work in spaghetti.
But it hit the fan,
And she said, “Oh, man!
Now my novel and notes are confetti.”

  2. A handful of my favourite books
Have made it to the screen
If you’ll allow, I’ll start right now,
    I’ll to set the scene:

‘A Game of Thrones’ from Ice and Fire
The Twilight Zones close to the wire
    Sweet Jessica Jones, sometimes draconian
And, of course, Bones (from the Smithsonian)

    Super-heroes by the score
Cops and spies and sleuths galore
All my faves, from classics to Sci-Fi
Are on my Kindle (thanks to WiFi)
With so many volumes to be read
It’s a wonder I’m ever out of bed!

  6. I haven’t taken up your challenge before, but I loved the subject this week. Books are something I know about and therefore it was fun to try a poem dedicated to them. Thanks! 🙂
