Wonderful Words

This week’s Wonderful Words is about taking a title from a book and seeing what creative threads come from it. How about ‘The Escape’? Or ‘The Key’? Then there’s ‘I Found You’. Take a look through your bookshelves and see what you can find to inspire you.

In last week’s Wonderful Words, I suggested taking a random line from a book to set you thinking. The line ‘There are tears in her eyes’ clearly struck a chord with Kristian, who wrote a short, uplifting piece below:

There are tears in her eyes.
She prided herself on not being the weepy type but she couldn’t help herself. She’d been trying for so many years and she’d really given up hope.
“Sat that again, Doctor, please?”
“You’re pregnant, Mrs Tyler. With Twins,” the Doctor replied.
She felt her husband squeeze her hand and she let the tears roll down her face.
They were tears of the utmost joy.

  1. ‘How To Stop Time’ … on my shelf next to ‘Autumn’ … coincidence or telling me something?

    Hi Esther

    Hope you are keeping well.

Thank you for giving me this prompt. My piece is in response to Under a Mackerel Sky by the chef Rick Stein.

    Best wishes, Linda.
