Wonderful Words

As a wordsmith, I love learning about new words and then using them in my writing. Here are a few you may not have heard of and which may inspire you in your writing:

  • Pusillanimous – lacking courage
  • Vellicate – to nip, twitch, pinch
  • Mabble – to wrap up
  • Hebdomadally – weekly
  • Caliginous – dark, dim, misty, obscure

  1. 😱 If I find any of those words in a book, other than a Dictionary, it’ll go straight back to the shelf 😂

  3. If I use a word like these you can be sure it’s a typo! Mind you I kind of like vellicate though the spell checker don’t!

  7. Today I managed to get the words Vehemently and Capacious into a short story. So proud 😉

I love learning new words too. I’d heard of Pusillanimous but I wasn’t too sure of its meaning, I don’t think I’d have the courage to use it.

I LOVE Scripturient, I’ve got to use that in a story or poem!

    All the best.
