   A quick reflection on ‘been there, smelled that’:

   The scent was out there
   lurking in the morning air,
   just recollections of a yesterday, he said,
   and how it fared.
   However, she thought wisely
   about this stench,
   knowing full well
   it was not in past tense.
   The sun would soon heat
   the cobblestone street,
   and the sewer’s odor would rise
   to levels of a repulsively hot drainage creek!
