Markets For Writers

My market for you this week is restricted to women, I’m afraid, but it is a good one. Mslexia are holding a novel competition for unpublished women novelists. The book can be in any genre, but must be at least 50,000 words in length and written for adults or young adults.

The entry fee is £25 but there is a first prize of £5000 on offer.

The winner and another four finalists will have their work looked at by The Literary Consultancy and be given feedback.

Up to the first 5000 words of your novel can be sent, but they ask that the novel is complete before entering.

The closing date is 21st September 2015.

  1. Whether it is for everyone, or just for women, I am never less than amazed that you find these opportunities for everyone and are so helpful about publishing them.

    1. Thanks, Peter. That’s good of you to say. I know what it’s like trying to find markets to write for so I like to help others when I can.
