Markets For Writers

My market for you this week is once again courtesy of the ever helpful Sacha Black who found this rather unusual competition. The Becoming Writer Writing Contest is inviting stories of 1000 words and will publish all, yes all, stories entered and offer feedback. Sound too good to be true? Take a look at the following link for further details: http://thewritepractice.com/members/writing-contest/?awt_l=GefJY&awt_m=3ir4MDb624sKU5r

There is an entry fee of $20 and entries must be received by 23rd March 2015 so you haven’t long!

There doesn’t appear to be a prize, though the top ten stories will have a featured place on ShortFictionBreak.com and a special mention on The Write Practice. The best story will be featured on thewritepractice.com.

  1. I am in the process of becoming a writer, and stumbled across this link to the competition, so thank you for sharing. I have paid the entry fee, but I am unable to join the community, for some reason. There seems to be an error with the link. I need some advice if possible from other potential entrants, who may have the same problem? If one is unable to access the community (one of the competition rules) there is no opportunity for feedback or collaborative learning, or to enter the competition. I have emailed them, so there is the possibility I will get help from them.

    1. Thank you for your comment and I’m sorry to hear you’ve not been able to join the community. Perhaps you can only join after the sign ups period so that may get back to you after Monday 23rd. Hopefully they’ll respond to your e-mail and let you know what’s going on. Please let me know how you get on.
