Top Tip Of The Week

Check, check, check!

It’s so important to check your work before you send it out. Mistakes easily creep in. Set your work aside for a few days and then read it through. If you leave it for a while, you then see it anew and mistakes stand out. To show you how easy it is for mistakes to creep in, see if you can spot the five mistakes in this passage of text. There’s a variety of punctuation and grammatical errors:

The glass ruptured and fine splinters spiralled down to to the ground. Duncan reached in and turned the key. his chest puffing out with pride as he let the door swing open. Sarah stopped short of breaking out into a round of applause and followed him inside.

Goosebumps gathered, speedily spreading over her hole body. She trod carefully over the laminate floor, aware of their intrusion into anothers’ home. She could almost smell bread baking as her eyes find the worktops and a breadboard on display.

Someone lived there. Someone who might now be dead.
