My Writing Week

My writing week is going well, with several submissions sent out and an article published in The Guardian at the weekend. I recently covered this as a market (see Markets For Freelancers) so if you’d like to see an example of the type of piece they publish, you can find my article if you click on the following link:

As you can see below, the paper also doubled up as a comfy pillow!

This week’s market is called, ‘Best of British’ and describes itself as ‘Britain’s Favourite Nostalgia and Heritage Magazine’. It’s a monthly publication, which invites articles on all aspects of British life, from the 1930s to the 1980s, from holidays, to books, to clothes, to everyday life.

There’s a fantastic page on the website, which gives information on writing for ‘Best of British’ and the website features several other useful pages including examples of the type of articles it publishes:

Well done for this and what a lovely story. It’s got me thinking of a number of memories and occasions that might well work for this and for the Best of British market. I love your photos of your cats- they seem to just flop down and sleep wherever suits them!

    1. Thanks Christine. I’m really glad it’s got your creative juices flowing and ideas coming to mind. Let me know how you get on with them 🙂

Re the cats – you’re right; they find comfort anywhere and everywhere. I found Morris asleep earlier today, wrapped round the toilet pipes! Believe me they have beds in most rooms, which they do use too; they’re just not fussy!
