Every day marks the anniversary of a famous person’s birth or death, an historical event or the invention of something which altered lives. Anniversary-based articles make fascinating reading and a lot of magazines use them.

So where can you find out about what happened when?

There are lots of websites which feature lists of ‘on this day in history’ so and so was born, such and such took place and so on. A plethora of interesting and unusual topics are covered. You might find something listed triggers off an idea which, together with a little research, will make for an unusual anniversary piece guaranteed to stand out. Here are some useful websites:
