Happy Monday, all. Here’s your weekly limerick challenge. Your new word is:
LAZY
Last week’s prompt was KILT. You came up with some funny limericks:
This hot guy once wore a kilt
At a concert, high as a stilt
His show was a turd
Cause he forgot all the words
Not very smart was he, but was built!
Nicola Daly:
With a terrible feeling of guilt
I pick up his sword by the hilt
Now I can take a peep
While he’s fast asleep
And find out what’s under his kilt!
David Tennant in his kilt was dancing
At the Bafta awards he was prancing
Then his foot took a slip
And his sporran just split
This accident? his reputation enhancing!
There once was a man with big guilt,
For leaving the house that he built.
It wasn’t on purpose,
But there’s too much surface,
For the wind to blowup his kilt.
There once was a guy in a skirt
and a blouse but he called that a shirt.
“It’s a kilt. Can’t you see?”
It’s a skirt, though, to me,
but who cares? Let’s just call it a skirt.
The flower began to wilt
So she covered it up with silt
But to her total surprise
A figure did arise
A flower’s ghost can’t be kilt.
The sight of Liam in a kilt
Caused Jennie Malone’s heart to wilt
His job was gardens in homes
Cute ones with little fun gnomes
Worked well ‘till he stood on a tilt.
There once was a lad in a kilt,
Whose dance made the whole town beilt.
With a twirl and a spin,
He’d bring joy from within,
In his outfit of plaid, all would wilt.
On the school bus adorned in a kilt
John felt impressively build
‘Till the girls gave a snigger
“We’ve seen ones much bigger!”
And John felt his confidence wilt.
As the pipers began to play
For the crowd gathered that day:
With their kilts swinging low
It was a good show
As they led the carnival away.
Olaf Sturlasson’s Poetry Corner:
Wee Wullie McSporran was a hit
With the ladies; but had to admit
Whenever he washed his kilt
He was always racked with guilt
For he never could do a fling with it.
If I show off my legs in my kilt,
I’d be so overwhelmed with guilt.
My legs are all hairy,
I’m knock-kneed, it’s scary.
I need both these limbs rebuilt.
