I hope your week is going well. Here’s a new story challenge:
Can you tell a story in 12 words? You must use the following words somewhere in the story:
- CAPSIZE
- FINGERNAIL
- GREEN
Last week’s prompt was to tell a story in 22 words using the following words in it somewhere:
- ZEBRA
- LAMPSHADE
- WORRY
Here are your brilliant stories:
I pocketed the toy zebra and adjusted the lampshade on my way out the door. I’ll worry about buying the groceries later.
Zoe’s worry was the Zebra lampshade was made of real hide but it was fake velvet and cheap on the pocket, hooray!
The zebra iPhone pocket on the lampshade worried me. Would the hot charging iPhone burn it? I placed the fire extinguisher close.
Wiggling into the writer’s memory pocket, the tiny zebra plucked from the lampshade meant her exotic storyline was no longer a worry.
Owl didn’t worry when Zebra pocketed Giraffe’s spotlight and lampshade.
His night vision was perfect: free from spots, stripes and blotches.
Lampshade with zebra stripes? Carpet and wallpaper to match? I couldn’t put my hand in my pocket to fund this animalistic decor.

I reached into my pocket for my phone, knocking my zebra lampshade over. I gasped, worried the bulb would smash. It did!
