In 1983, when I was living in Lagos, Nigeria, there was a major fire in the NEPA (Nigerian Electrical Power Authority) building. According to subsequent newspaper reports, one employee threw himself from a fourth floor window, landed on his head on the pavement, and walked away uninjured! I don’t recall if he had any subsequent trouble walking.
