Markets For Writers

The Fiction Desk’s Annual Ghost Story.

I have Geoff Le Pard to thank for this week’s market.

The Fiction Desk publish fiction of between 2000 – 11000 words (see my ‘More Markets For Freelancers Page’ for more info)

They also hold regular competitions and are currently holding a ghost story competition, with a first prize of £500, a second prize of £250, and a third prize of £100.

Your story needs to be between 1,000 and 5,000 words in length. You have exactly a month in which to complete your story (closing date: 28th February 2015).  There is an entry fee of £8 for each story submitted.

For further details, see the competition page: http://www.thefictiondesk.com/submissions/ghost-story-competition.php

  1. £8 is a bit steep! I’m finding competitions are getting more and more expensive these days 😦
