Markets For Writers

Up until last week, with Fish Publishing’s competitions, I had neglected the poets amongst you for a while, so still seeking to redress that, I have another poetry competition for you. Cafe Writers are holding an open poetry competition for poems of up to 40 lines.

If you’re sending a single poem, there’s an entry fee of £4. Or if you send three, you’ll only need to pay £10 and the fee reduces to £2 per poem after that.

The first prize is £1000, with a £300 second prize and £200 goes to the poet in the third spot. There are also monetary prizes for six commended entries, the funniest poem and there is also an award to the best poem from a local entrant (The Norfolk Prize). Past years’ prize winning entries can be found on-line. For further details: http://www.cafewriters.org.uk

The closing date is 30th November 2014. Entries from around the world are accepted.
